There is a lot of gaming content out there! These are some of my favorite podcasts to listen to and vlogs to watch:

Playability-logo

I co-host Playability, an interview-based podcast at the crossroads of gameplay and accessibility. Our goal with the show is to get the gaming community talking and thinking more about accessibility in games, so we want to talk with designers/artists/developers about how they’ve addressed accessibility in past or current games. When we discuss accessibility, we mean anything to do with physical, visual, cognitive, emotional, and social (inclusivity, etc.) accessibility. Episodes run 15-20 minutes — something people can listen to during a commute, a lunch break, a walk, etc. Full transcripts are posted with each episode.

BGIB

Board Games in Bed is a weekly podcast about board & card games hosted by Becky and Kelly Rolfe. The podcast is recorded on a Sunday morning from their bed, where they recap what games they have been playing in the week and discuss a board game related topic. The podcasts usually last about 30-40 minutes & focus more on discussion of experiences playing games rather than reviews, but rest assured opinions will be given!”

Girls’ Game Shelf

“What’s this series all about? Ladies reviewing board games! In each episode you get a quick overview of a game, highlights of gameplay, & reviews from each player. You can find out about new games through our show, or learn more about a game by seeing us play through it. Check our show out before you buy a new game – or before you make other people play said game! Or maybe you just like to watch board game reviews and geek out like we do… I mean, we don’t do that. Pffffft.”

Our Turn! Podcast

“Our Turn Podcast is made up of a group of women who are pulling out the chairs around the table & inviting everyone to sit down & join the game & the conversation. Gaming is a fun social hobby that invites conversation, interaction, & connection between people of diverse backgrounds & points of view. Sitting across the game table & engaging in an entertaining pastime can break down barriers & open up lines of communication.”
